About

The Artist

Since completing a Creative Arts degree and a PGCE at Birmingham University, Mooglymoo has divided her time between painting, teaching and bringing up her family. She has been creating fine art ukuleles since 2007 and has received commissions from all over the world. Mooglymoo is also a keen ukulele player and is married to ukulele performer and teacher ‘Nipper’. She creates all her ukuleles to be both beautiful and playable instruments.

In The Studio

The process of any commission begins with pencil designs created in partnership between the client and Mooglymoo.

The ukulele is prepared and the design drawn on.

The ukulele is painted using high quality acrylic paints.

The ukulele is then sprayed with several coats of gloss or matt nitrocellulose instrument grade lacquer, and then professionally set up with Aquila Nylgut strings.

All Mooglymoo ukuleles are playable instruments, with the lacquer providing a durable finish. The sound of the instrument is not affected by the process of painting and finishing.  If you would like to commission a design of your choosing simply CLICK HERE to contact Mooglymoo.
